HTTP (HIMTI Togetherness and Top Performance) 2015 was a welcoming ceremony organized by HIMTI BINUS University specially for new students of Computer Science. This year HTTP’s theme was SHINE, which stands for Strengthening Harmony and Inspiring New Experiences. In order to be able to join HTTP 2015, Binusian 2019 either had to buy tickets during EXPO at HIMTI counter or directly register themselves via website (himti.org/http.php). The price of each HTTP 2015 ticket was Rp. 150,000. Eventhough the ticket was quite expensive, it was really worth it because not only we were given e-certificate, merchandise, lunch, HIMTI exclusive pin, HTTP 2015 t-shirt, goodie bag, HIMTI Kit, HIMTI Magz and transportation, we were also given an introduction to C language course (PBC/Pengenalan Bahasa C) which was a great advantage for the new students.
HTTP 2015 was held on Saturday, 12 September 2015 at the 3rd floor Auditorium of BPPT II Building in Thamrin, Jakarta from 9:00am – 5.00pm. Binusian 2019 were first gathered at campus (Kemanggisan/Alam Sutera) in the morning and then we all went together by bus to BPPT II Building. Binus Alam Sutera’s studets were the first one to arrive at BPPT II Building. While waiting for Binus Kemanggisan’s students, Mr. Peabody & Sherman and Big Hero 6 movies were played for us to watch. Both movies were such a good entertainment, we laughed a lot and really enjoy watching them.
HTTP 2015 started with the performance from the winner of HIMTI Got Talent 2015, some of our seniors and our fellows Binusian 2019, followed by opening speeches delivered by Head of Event, HIMTI Presidents (Bima Riyanto & Ivan Christanno), SCDC (Student Creativity and Development Center) Manager and Dean of Computer Science.
After listening to the long, tedious speeches, we played a game. 5 people (4 boys and 1 girl) were chosen randomly and escorted to the stage. Then small, colourful sticky notes were pasted all over their bodies (from hair to toes). The contestants had to remove all the sticky notes on their bodies (without touching it) by shaking, dancing, jumping to a song in a specified time. The first one who succeeded in getting rid of all the sticky notes, win the game.
Afterwards, Binusian 2019 were totally amazed by the performance from HIMTI Band and a short drama musical called “Visualisasi” played by HIMTI activists. Next, we listened to Laksamana Mustika (Elven Digital) and Tyovan Ari Widagdo sharing their journey as Binusians and as successful entrepreneurs. The talk show was extremely inspiring, Binusian 2019 learnt a lot of things from Laksamana and Tyovan. We had lunch directly after the talk show ended. When we were done eating, we were instructed to cluster together in front of the stage because it was time for the main event of HTTP 2015, which was the inauguration of computer science’s new students. The purpose of this event was to officially mark the new students as part of Computer Science big family. Finally, HTTP 2015 was closed with astonishing performances from HTTP 2015 guest stars (Rianti Duke featuring Teddy Adithya and DJ Angelo), we danced and sang until our body covered with sweats but, that’s okay because we were having so much fun.
Overall, I’m very happy that i decided to join HTTP 2015. It was a great experience and i enjoyed every second of it. HTTP 2015 helped me made some new friends and got to know my seniors & classmates more but, the most important thing is by participating in HTPP 2015 I now have a new family in campus.
